UN International Year of Youth Culmination Celebration with AlleyKatzz

On August 11, AllyKatzz, a premier media company for tween- teen girls, will hold the UN International Year of Youth Culmination Celebration. The event will be held at the United Nations from 10 AM to 5 PM and will be hosted by UN Youth Champion Monique Coleman (most know her as an actress from the High School Musical franchise). Celebrating the end of the first International Year of Youth in twenty-five years, the event will host one hundred and ninety two teen girls, who will be delegates at the celebration, which includes a press conference.

If you are between the ages of 11 and 24 and interested in participating as a delegate in the August 11th celebration, click here for an application. This is an amazing opportunity for young women to speak their minds about important issues — and be heard.

On December 18, 2009, the UN General Assembly concluded that the year starting on August 12, 2010, would be the International Year of Youth: Dialogue & Mutual Understanding. Now that year is almost over and many events have been held, giving young people a voice at the UN concerning causes such as HIV/AIDS, Women’s Rights, LGBT Rights, and Climate Change. The culmination celebration will continue to inspire youth to take a stance on issues they believe in.

Here is a message from host Monique Coleman.
