UN Committee on Sustainable Development: Cancun Climate Change Paper

The UN Committee on Sustainable Development NY, a member of the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the U.N., gives recommendations to Governments for Action on Climate Change.

EPA Retains Greenhouse Gas Regulatory Authority

A significant victory for sensible US climate change policy was achieved on June 10, with the defeat of the attempt in the US Senate to strip the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of its authority to regulate greenhouse gases. Large decreases in greenhouse gas emissions are necessary to mitigate the destructive global warming trend of climate change, which is leading to increasingly severe impacts worldwide. Appropriate US climate legislation can replace EPA regulation, but the right-wing strategy is to defeat both regulation and climate legislation. More information is on the UU-UNO Climate Portal.
