1. Where are you from and what congregation do you attend?
I am from the wondrous town of Arnprior, Ontario and attend the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa.
2. Why did you want to become a Youth Envoy? Is there a particular global issue that you feel passionately about?
I became a Youth Envoy to bridge the gap between my Youth Group and our UU-UNO working group. I feel it is crucial to have both groups on the same page for both collaborative and support purposes. As an envoy, I wanted to act as the bridge between the UU-UNO working group and the surrounding church community. I feel most fervently about women’s rights. My eyes just lit up when it came to my knowledge that the topic would be the focal point of this year’s seminar. I feel so strongly that this global issue is crucial to equality and international development; both of which I strongly support as a Unitarian Universalist youth going into Int. development.
3. Have you been to Spring Seminar yet?
I have attended the Spring Seminar for the past two consecutive years. This past Spring Seminar focusing on women’s rights was (by far) the most influential to me.
4. Do you have any advice for other Youth Envoys?
Try your best to advocate the benefits of the UU-UNO, and show physical proof of your experience at Spring Seminars and/ or fundraising events. It can be as simple as facilitating a slide show after service to stress youth involvement. Just do whatever it takes to bring your personal experiences created through the UU-UNO to those who may be interested and/ or support you as well as the organization.
5. If you could have any super power, what would it be?
My all-time favorite super power would have to be time control. I think it would be incredible to experience history first hand!

1. Where are you from and what congregation do you attend?
I’m a member of All Souls Church in New York City.
2. Why did you want to become a Youth Envoy? Is there a particular global issue that you feel passionately about?
I became a Youth Envoy so that I could learn more about our denomination’s global social outreach. I am especially committed to improving educational opportunities for children and youth. I was inspired by the fifth grade class at our church, which organizes a bake sale every year to raise funds for Every Child is our Child.
3. Have you been to Spring Seminar yet?
I have not been to Spring Seminar but plan to go this year!
4. Do you have any advice for other Youth Envoys?
Ask your youth group to spearhead Religious Education fundraisers at your church– the more youth involved, the better!
5. If you could have any super power, what would it be?I would like to be able to understand and speak all languages. Right now I’m only fluent in English and Spanish.
Meet Alley Wolff from Huntington, Long Island!

1. Where are you from and what congregation do you attend?
I am from the UUFH (Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington) on Long Island. I was born in Farmingdale, New York, but I moved to Jericho, New York when I was 4.
2. Why did you want to become a Youth Envoy? Is there a particular global issue that you feel passionately about?
I became an envoy because I wanted to be a part of a larger UU community and I didn’t want to wait to be 16 to volunteer at the office. I feel particularly strong about LGBT rights and I personally believe that the rights that the government and community are denying LGBT people are unalienable.
3. Have you been to Spring Seminar yet?
I will be attending my first Spring Seminar this year
4. Do you have any advice for other Youth Envoys?
My advice to other youth envoys is to not be afraid to share your ideas and points of view with adults. The whole reason that there are youth envoys is because adults WANT to hear what we think.
5. If you could have any super power, what would it be?
The coolest super power is telepathy.

1. Where are you from and what congregation do you attend?
Olivia is from Santa Monica in Los Angeles.
2. Why did you want to become a Youth Envoy? Is there a particular global issue that you feel passionately about?
Already an active member of her church, Olivia attended the Inter-generational Spring Seminar in 2010 with her Youth Group and was inspired to bring a wider, international perspective into her involvement at church. She cares deeply about gay rights and has helped plan her church’s UN Sunday on Global Warming.
3. Have you been to Spring Seminar yet?
Olivia attended the 2010 Spring Seminar and greatly enjoyed the inter-generational aspects of the conference.
4. Do you have any advice for other Youth Envoys?
Olivia’s advice would be to advocate for an issue that you are most passionate about. She also recommends that you avoid procrastination and be as polite and respectful as possible when telling other people about the UU-UNO and why they should be supportive of our mission.
5. If you could have any super power, what would it be?
To fly!
