Resolution 1325
On October 31, 2000, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) unanimously adopted Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security. The adoption of Resolution 1325 was a historic and important event. It marks the first time the Security Council addressed the unique impact of armed conflict on women and recognized the need for the contribution of women in peace-keeping and post-conflict peace-building activities. This was an important step for including women in measures to improve security, promote peace and have their voices heard!
